Diabetic Foot Infection Study

Do you have diabetes and a serious foot infection? If so, read on to learn about the Reclaim study, which is testing an investigational study drug to find out how it compares to a drug that is already approved for diabetic foot infections (DFIs).
Who can join the study?
You may be able to join the study if you meet the following requirements:
• You are 18 years of age or older.
• You have been diagnosed with diabetes mellitus (type 1 or 2).
• You have a DFI. Other requirements apply, which the study doctor will determine
What should study participants expect?
Participation in the Reclaim study will last up to 2 months and will be divided into the following periods:
Screening (up to 2 days)
• Have study tests and procedures to find out if you qualify to be in the study.
Study Drug (2 to 4 weeks)
• Be randomly assigned to receive either the investigational study drug or the approved study drug: Chances of receiving the investigational study drug: 60% (3 in 5) Chances of receiving the approved study drug: 40% (2 in 5)
• Receive the study drug twice daily for 2 to 4 weeks.
• Participants will receive at least 1 dose of the study drug by IV, but they may be switched to tablets based on the study doctor’s judgment.
• Have study tests and procedures about every 4 days.
Follow-up (about 1 month)
• Have 2 follow-up study visits after your last dose of the study drug
